Pretreatment for Neurotoxins and Fillers

Expected appointment time 30 minutes neurotoxins

AVOID blood thinning medications ie Nsaids, aspirin, vitamin e & alcoholic beverages 24 hours before to help prevent bruising.

If you have history of herpes simplex, you should be pre-treated prior to lip filler to reduce the risk out an outbreak

Possible side effects or complications: headaches are common and can take tylenol as needed. While temporary bruising & swelling at the injection site. Eyelid & eyebrow ptosis (drop) may also occur rare, but precautions are taken.

Do not receive if you :

  • had an allergic reaction to any botulinum toxin product such as BOTOX® Cosmetic (onabotulinumtoxinA), Myobloc®(rimabotulinumtoxinB), Dysport® (abobotulinumtoxinA), or Xeomin® (incobotulinumtoxinA)
  • have a skin infection at the planned injection site.
  • have muscle or nerve conditions, such as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease, myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome
  • medical conditions, including: plans to have surgery; had surgery on your face; have trouble raising your eyebrows; drooping eyelids; any other abnormal facial change; are pregnant or plan to become pregnant; are breast-feeding or plan to. Fever, flu, or cold symptoms. Facial asymmetry like Bell’s Palsy
  • allergies to milk protein (Dysport)
  • allergies to human albumin
  • if you have received any other botulinum toxin product in the last 4 months; have recently received an antibiotic by injection; take muscle relaxants; take an allergy or cold medicine; take a sleep medicine; take aspirin-like products or blood thinners.
